Make Portland Weirder
This is a campaign to encourage people not to stay stagnant.
What is this?
Our goal is to highlight those who are making Portland weirder and to encourage others to do the same. As such, this is a call to action!
Why not “Keep Portland Weird”?
That slogan implies there is a peak of weird and we have already achieved it. That would mean there’s no need to innovate, only to maintain the weird that exists. Even worse are parody slogans like “Make Portland Weird Again” which suggest we can’t do better than the weird we once had. We reject those notions.
What is “weird”?
Since we don’t believe there is such thing as “most weird” or “peak weird” or “best weird”, we have the opportunity to explore everything that “weird” can mean to all of you! We hop to discover more about “weird” as we interact with and collaborate with makers around Portland.
But as a defining line for what we will feature here: projects should be new or actively growing/changing.

Where do your profits go?
After operating costs and artist payments*, all profits are donated to non-profits supporting Portland’s weirdness. This month we are supporting… (non-profit to be added when this project goes live).
*Operating costs include merch printing and production, web hosting, and our 2 staff members. Merch MSRP is set in collaboration with the artists who are given 80% of the profits.
